-How I met your father- (AN: haha, see what I did there? No? awww...)
"Mama!" Maria ran into the room, jumping on the bed that you sat on.
The bed bounced up and down due to Maria's weight added. You looked up as Maria made herself comfortable on the side of the bed next to you. The windows were open slightly so there was a small breeze in the room along with sunlight. The day was a nice day, other than Romano at work and you having the day alone with Maria.
"Hey Maria! How are you?" You smiled, running your fingers through the young girl's hair.
"Great! Uu Uu! I came to ask you a question that had bothered me for a while." Maria said, tilting her head.
"What is it?" You asked, resting your hand back onto the soft bed blankets.
"How did you meet Papa?" Maria asked, her big eyes looking up at you with curiosity.
You're eyes widen in surprise. What made Maria wonder this? Well, you couldn't blame her. Every child, witch or not, is curious. You chuckled, making Maria even more curious.
"Heh? Something wrong?" Maria asked.
"No no. I haven't thought about it in a while. I guess it would be a nice story to tell."
.Along time ago
Walking down the streets of Savannah Georgia, USA, You took a look at all the people around you. You were walking on the sidewalk of a park, taking in all the fresh air as well. You moved here due to family and school, which you were just about done with. You had a sketch book in your hand, held against your chest, and your hair was in a ponytail.
Not watching where you were walking, you tripped apon someone. They fell to the ground and you fell on top of the.
"Whoa, Dude! Watch out!" You heard a loud voice say.
"Sorry, sir!" You politely said and got off the person.
The man got up and turned to you, strangely smiling. He had blond hair and blue eyes, glasses and a bomber jacket. There was not a scratch on him, nor did her look hurt, and because of him, you had not gotten hurt.
"Haha, don't worry about it. Just look out next time!" The man smiled.
You smiled what a nice person. Sadly, you seem to meet a lot of mean people, so this made you feel better.
"So, What brings you here to the squares of Savannah?" The man asked. W-was he trying to start a conversation with you?
.I had to move to get closer to my siblings and
.There was a lot of things about my school so
." You awkwardly answered.
"Heh, By the way, I'm Alfred Jones! What's your name?" The man, or Alfred, asked.
"______. ___ ________." You said.
"Cool!" Alfred laughed.
I better be on my way. I'm getting a little hungry." You tighten your grip on your sketch book and started to walk past the man, towards the Pizza place on the other side of the square.
"You're going to the Pizza place!? Awesome! I was too!" Alfred said, stopping you.
"Yeah! You've been there before?" You asked.
"Many times!" Alfred said. "Why don't we go together?"
"Sure. Why not? Split the bill?" You smiled, now walking down the sidewalk with Alfred, towards the Pizza Place.
"HOLD ON!" Maria stopped you.
"What?" You asked.
You met America first?!" Maria asked.
Yeah. Did you think this would be some fairytale where the princess meets her prince right off the bat?"
"Real life isn't a fairytale. Relationships take time to develop. Not only am I started at the beginning of the story but our relationship, me and Romano's, didn't start off very good. You'll see." You sighed and Maria said nothing, signaling you to continue.
So You and Alfred became really good friends, hanging out a few times a week in the Savannah squares. You friended him on Facebook, and looking at his profile, he had a lot of friends. Yao, Ivan, Kiku, Toni, Veneziano. Was he friends with everyone around the world?! You also told your friends about him, and like just about every friend would do, they teased you. They thought you liked him, but you only liked him as a friend.
By now, you were out of school. You had more time for your friends and family, and now Alfred was one of your best friends. You trusted him more than some of your other friends. But, one day
Something changed. Let's say you were a moth drawn to light. But there was some other thing that took you away from the light, but left every moth to be. What was that thing? Well
"Hey, ______!" You heard your friend, Alfred, call. Turning around in the spinning chair you were in, you faced him.
"Yeah?" You asked, smiling.
"So I haft to visit my family in England for a few months a-" He started.
"Awww! I don't want you to leave!" You complained, waving your arms out like a lazy person.
"But hold on! I bought two plane tickets so you can come with me! Arthur said he didn't mind if you came along." Alfred said.
"Really!? Awesome!" You jumped out of your chair, hugging Alfred.
"I know right!? Oh, and the flight leaves in a few hours!" Alfred said.
"WHAT!?" You yelled.
"Heh. Sorry." Alfred chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck with his hand.
"I haft to pack my things and tell my family and friends where I'm going!" You said, digging around your room and finding things to pack.
"Don't worry! I'll call your friend and family and tell them! Slow down, dude!" Alfred said, walking over towards the phone.
"I'm just so excited and rushed at the same time!" You part laughed part yelled.
"AHAHA!" America laughed.
"Little did I know, England had not approved of America bringing me with him overseas." You sighed.
"Not surprising." Maria commented.
"He was afraid I'd find out about the Nation secret. That and the real reason America had to fly to England was because the G8 meeting was being held there." You said.
"Well, look what you found about about. Just as England worried of." Maria said, resting her back on the bed.
That's not the only thing he worried about."
"Bloody hell, America! I told you not to bring her!" England hissed, quietly so that only America could hear him. You were sitting in the other side of the room, wondering what they were talking about and sketching in your sketch book.
"Sorry! But I didn't want to waste my time here and not have someone interesting to talk to! Every time I have to come over here I'm bored as crap!" America whined.
"What if she finds out about the secret?! She'll be yet another mortal to have her brain washed and not remember who she really is! Even worse, the government could take her! You remember the last mortal!" England hissed.
"Dude, that was like 50 years ago!" America said.
"Can you think about how her life is at risk even being in my house!?" England growled.
"Dude, calm down!" America said.
..Fine, but if something happens to this girl, it's all your fault." England sighed, holding his head high and walking away.
Serious problems, bro." America sighed, turning and walking back towards you.
"So, how'd your conversation go?" You asked.
"Good! So what'cha drawing?" America smiled, suddenly taking interest in your drawing.
A mortal's life could be at risk for knowing the secret?" Maria asked.
"Yes. No one is supposed to know about it. Only nations, military governs, presidents, and VERY important people."
How'd you get away with it? Are nations even allowed to have families?" Maria asked.
was actually easy. I had not known my life was at risk at the time. And
.I don't think the governs and stuff approve, but they never banned it or taken that privilege away from the nations." You said.
As a month finally passed by, you had become friends with Alfred's brothers, Arthur and Matthew. You even talked to a man named Francis here and there, but Arthur kept you away from him. The day you found out about the secret, thought, wasn't a very good day for you.
"No one's In the house. No one's outside. Where did they all go?" You growled, sitting on the porch of Arthur's house. No one seemed to be anywhere, and you felt abandon. Why would they not tell you where they were.
"America, stop!" You heard fighting in the distance. If you were a cat, your ears would be straight up.
"Hahahha!" You heard Alfred's laughing somewhere beyond the trees to your left.
Slowly, you walked towards the trees and hide behind them once you could see a group of people. Four of which were Alfred, Matthew, Arthur, and Francis. They were
"England! Get your little brother to stop hitting me!" One man yelled. Alfred looked like he was hugging him. The man was really thin and small, with his hair in his ponytail.
"America, leave China alone. Seriously! You're so childish!" Arthur yelled, pulling Alfred off the man.
"Russia thinks China should seek revenge on America." A tall, scary man smiled.
"Ve! Germany! Russia's being scary!"
"Shut'a up, fratello. You're so loud. And annoying."
"Germany? Russia? China? America? England? What are they doing? Roleplaying?" You asked to yourself.
Alfred had never told you about roleplaying nations. The idea seemed so
.strange to you. Out of all things to roleplay
.Nations?! Sighing, you turned back and headed towards Arthur's house. As you reached the porch, you heard footsteps from the edge of the trees. Turning, you saw a man. His hair was red-brown and he had a curl to the side of his head. He was looking in your direction with curiosity. There was another man beside him. They looked just alike, only the next man had darker hair and a curl on the other side of his head. They both stood where you just were, looking at you. You felt fear rush up your spin like a horror movie and sprinted into the house.
"What the hell was that about?!" You panted, closing the door shut.
You crawled over to the window next to the door and looked out to see both men were gone. Thinking about it, weren't they some of the people Alfred was playing with?
"Something is downright wrong here." You whispered.
"______." You jumped to the voice at the door of your room. Turning around, you saw Arthur and Francis. Something was wrong.
"Y-yes?" You asked and the two men walked towards you.
"I don't want to sound rude, but you have to leave." Arthur said, looking your straight in the eyes.
"W-what!?" You asked.
"We're sorry, but Alfred is going to be taking you back home tomorrow." Francis sighed.
"But we're not supposed to leave for another month." You said, not trying to complain or whine.
"I'm very sorry or the surprise, ________. Plans
.have come up." Arthur said, looking at Francis.
"Plans? OH! Yes yes! Plans. Many plans!" Francis said, almost forgetting what the point of kicking you out was.
.Alright." You sighed. You felt
.rejected. Yet you still felt like they were keeping something from you. Maybe those two men who were staring at you the other day
maybe they had something to do with it.
..Scary." Maria said, bundling up into a small ball, still lying on the bed.
"It turns out Feli and Lovi saw me in the trees and fallowed me when I walked away. They then went back and told England that they saw 'some girl stalking them'. Thinking I caught onto the secret, Arthur wanted me to leave." You said.
"Amazing how I ask how you and Papa meet and the truth is the first time he saw you was when you felt horribly crept out by his presence." Maria smiled.
They next day, America took you back home. He dropped you off at the airport and then got back on another airplane, back to England. You were left to call a friend to pick you up and take you back to your house. That day went on, turning about horribly. None of your friends picked up and your family had went on a trip to another state without notice. You were left to find a cab, and then realized you left some of your things in a dresser drawer in Arthur's house. In the end, you walked home and fiddled with the key to your house to be let in.
You did, however, get your money back. Turned out Matthew found it and mailed it back. How nice of him.
Even more months passed by, and not a single word from Alfred. Not a call, not a text, not even a game invite on Facebook. In fact, you found out he unfriend you. What the hell had you done wrong!? It worried you a lot. You began wondering and determined that it had something to do with the roleplaying and those two strange men.
You began spending a lot of time trying to figure out what you did wrong and what the secret was. It was hard, but with knowing Alfred for awhile, you could come up with a lot of things.
"1. Alfred seemed like a very stereotypical America.
2. His brother was English, and his other brother was Canadian.
3. They didn't even have the same name!
4. Arthur's house had a lot of historical looking decorations.
5. Alfred has friend he had never told me about
6. They called each other things like "Russia" and "England""
That was your list of things you came up with right off the bat.
.No. It can't be possible." You whispered to yourself. Could they be
Turning to the computer next to you, you went to Google and searched "Personifications Nations". First search there was something on Ask.Com. Clicking the link, someone had asked "Was it possible that there could be Personifications of the earth's own nations?!" Down in the comments, was someone called "ArthurTheGreat." He said, straight out, No.
"Arthur the Great. Arthur Kirkland
." You whispered.
.It's obviously a lie. Alfred's secret is
"THEIR NATIONS!" You yelled out to no one in particular.
"Well that's how you found out?" You and Maria turned to see Romano at the doorway of the room. Chuckling, you nodded.
"That shit bothered me for a long time. If England wanted to be 100% sure I wasn't going to find out, he should of have kicked me out the day I came." You said.
"I always thought someone told you." Romano said, sitting down next to you and Maria.
"Actually, just about everyone else who knew was told. No one figured it out on their own." Romano sighed.
"Continue, mama!" Maria said, grabbing your arm.
Apon figuring out the secret, there was really nothing else to go on. You visited your family and friends a lot. Your mother started complaining, saying you needed to find a man to love. You laughed at the complaints, but you knew she was right. Being abandon by Alfred and his family for the secret and your friends always having something to do, you were alone. Your mother was afraid you'd become a crazy cat lady!
So you then decided you'd travel. You're mother supported you greatly on that decision and helped pay for the cost. It kind of felt like she wanted you away.
The first place you stayed was France. You spent a long time, wondering the streets. You almost forgot about the secret! That is, until someone familiar caught your eye
Walking down a street of France, you noticed a man with long blond hair and blue eyes. He had a beard and
.IT WAS FRANCIS! Looked like things might be going your way.
"FRANCIS!?" You called, running up. The man turned to you with a face of shock.
"__-____!? Is that you!? Whoa!" Francis chuckled. "It's been so long."
"I know. Last time I saw you, you and Arthur asked me to leave England and back to America." You said, trying to force a little guilt into him. Not in a mean way, but just so he understood.
"Hehe, yeah. I was just on my way to visit my younger brothers." Francis smiled as if you hadn't forced guilt into him.
"Cool. Hey, this might sound annoying, but maybe we could catch up on things. Maybe I could come along." You said. If you couldn't get Francis to spend more time with you, you might just lose the only chance you get on finding out more about the secret.
"S-sure! No problem with that!" Yes!
"So then France took you to our house and shit started there." Romano sighed.
"This story is better then I thought it was!" Maria smiled.
"Romano, would you like to continue?" You asked.
"Fratello! Big Brother France is here!" Italy called to Romano, who sat lazily on the couch.
"Whatever. Make sure he leaves me alone." Romano grumbled.
Romano heard his brother skip to the door and unlock it. He heard his fratello welcome France, but then there was also another voice. Romano turned to see Italy walking into the room with two people behind him. Not just France, but a girl. Italy looked at his brother with worried eyes. Those eyes let him know that that girl was the very same girl Arthur kicked out his house a long time ago.
"Vene, Roma. This is ______. _____, This is Veneziano and Romano." France said.
"Hello." You smiled.
"Ciao!" Italy smiled.
Romano growled and stood up. He then left the room and went into his room.
Fratello." Italy whined.
"Don't worry, _____. Romano's hates being around people." France sighed.
"And for the longest time, I thought you were really annoying." Romano said.
"And that was what I was talking about, Maria. Didn't start off like a fairy tale." You sighed, pointing your finger in the air.
"So how did everyone find out you knew the secret?" Maria asked.
You spent a lot of time spying on the Italy brothers. France left you with them, and you really didn't care. The next World meeting was coming up, you heard from Italy. By that time, you had everyone figured out and you were ready to prove you knew what you were talking about. You wanted them to know.
The morning of the world meeting, you left the Italy's' place and got to the meeting building super early. You walking into the meeting room and stood amazed at the size of the table. Then you remembered there were tons of nations, so it made since.
You sat at the very front, turned the chair to face the door, and sat there quietly with papers in your hand.
Starting another boring meeting." You heard someone say as the door was opened.
"The door isn't locked. Strange." Said another.
"Maybe they forgot to lock it." Another.
It was Alfred, Arthur, and Mattie. Or, as you found out, America, England, and Canada. The three walked into the room and froze when they saw you. As still as a deer in headlights. You chuckled.
"Long time, no see, Alfred! You too, Arthur. Matthew." You greeted.
"_____. What are you doing here?" Alfred, or America, asked.
"I came to spill some ink. You know
.Get to know you a little more." You smiled.
"_____. What are you talking about?" Canada asked.
"______?" France, Spain, Romano, and Italy arrived, walking through the door.
"Hello, France. Spain, North and South Italy." You smiled.
.? You aren't allowed to know this!" England stuttered.
"I found out with the knowledge I already had of you and Alfred." You sighed. You turned and spread all the papers out on the table. The nations walked over and looked at them.
"Notes, screenshots. Everything I could think of. All lead to ONE conclusion." You smiled, proud.
"And no one told you?" Spain asked.
"Not a single soul." You smiled.
"What a smart girl
" Canada said.
"I found out on my own. It's only your fault you couldn't keep a secret hidden." You said.
..What now? She's obviously different from the others." Another voice asked. It was Germany.
"O-others?" You squeaked. Now unsure of what kind of situation you were in.
"What happened next?!" Maria asked.
"The meeting was cut short and we all had a LONG talk about how important it was to keep quiet with ______. She, amazingly, listened and agreed to it all. We all had our doubts on her. But she soon became really friendly and nice to all the nations." Romano said.
How'd you two become close?" Maria asked.
It's amazing how of all people, it's with someone who tried their best to stay away from me." You chuckled.
"Again, I found you annoying. Not saying you really were."
"Anyway, America had a party and invited everyone. He forced us to play hide and seek. I hide on the roof, which was the same place Roma picked. I found him and we stayed up there, hiding for hours. Started talking and I started likeing him more. Spain ended up having to call Romano's cell because no one could find us."
"And I said 'suck it loser, keep looking.' And continued to talk to Bella." Romano smiled.
"And you both went out and the end!? Right!?" Maria jumped up, making the bed bounce.
"Yep!" You laughed.
